Kransekage

This delightful water color is of a traditional Danish wreath cake called Kransekage. The remarkable confection is often used for weddings. Painted in 1950, the artist is none other than Grand Duchess Olga Alexandrovna, granddaughter of Denmark's King Christian IX and sister of Russia's martyred last Tsar, Nicholas II.
