Christmas in Denmark
Even though Denmark is a very secular country, Christmastide is a major season with Christmas Eve being the biggest event. A large percentage of the population goes to church on Christmas. Moreover, at home there are many longstanding Christmas customs, such as eating a rice pudding where only one of the diners finds an almond in his dessert, and dancing around the Christmas tree. Wikipedia has a pretty good summary of Danish Christmas.
I'd venture to say that the little heart-shaped decorations in the colors of the Danish flag (Julehjerter) are found on the Christmas trees of many Danish Americans of even the third and fourth generations and beyond.
