Today is the 124th anniversary of the birth of Anna Bøg. In celebration, here are two new photographs.
In the first, Anna Bøg (right) is wearing a Gibson girl blouse, popular in the early 20th century. It looks as if she has a cameo at the neckline. At this point, we are not sure of the identity of the other young woman, but she is likely a cousin. It seems quite possible that this picture was taken during Anna Bøg's trip to Denmark to meet the members of the Danish Missionary Society prior to her actually being taken on as a missionary.
The second photograph is of missionary architect Elise Bahnson (far left), next the elderly missionary Mrs. Bolwig, the third woman is Anna Oline Meinertsen (then or later married to Rev. Jens Lind Hogsgaard), and Anna Bøg to the far right. This charming picture shows better than words the tender bond of friendship between these colleagues.
